WASHINGTON— Earlier this month, USCIS announced that individuals who had previously received deferred action under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) can now electronically (online) file Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

At this time, this option is available only for those individuals who were previously granted DACA. They must also file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, which is available for online filing, as well as the Form I-765 Worksheet.

To file Form I-821D and Form I-765 online, a DACA requestor must first create a free USCIS online account, which allows the account holder to conveniently and securely submit forms, pay fees and track case status.

Now individuals can file 13 USCIS forms online. USCIS also accepts the latest paper versions of all forms by mail. USCIS hopes that with the expansion of online filing, USCIS will increase efficiency and minimize reliance on paper records.
