Lionel Marcus Brown serves as Of Counsel at Bhatta Law & Associates, PLLC.  where he advises clients on emerging technology law, regulatory compliance, and real estate finance matters. With more than a decade of legal experience, he has represented financial institutions, private equity sponsors, investors, and corporate clients in complex domestic and cross-border transactions.

Mr. Brown’s practice focuses on AI governance, data privacy, data governance, and technology risk management. He counsels organizations on AI implementation, automated decision-making frameworks, vendor and data agreements, and governance policies designed to align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.

In addition to his technology practice, Mr. Brown advises sponsors, developers, investors, and lenders on private equity real estate transactions, DSCR and construction financing, and investment fund formation. He also serves as Managing Partner of Accolent Real Estate Co., overseeing development and investment initiatives.

Prior to private practice, Mr. Brown held senior compliance and regulatory roles, helping develop global KYC and AML standards and leading financial crime investigations across multiple jurisdictions. He also advised on licensing and intellectual property transactions valued at more than $1 billion.

Mr. Brown holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, a J.D. from Charleston School of Law, and is admitted to the New York State Bar. He is also a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
